founded on a tradition of excellence
Attorney Gordon E. Stillings has devoted more than twenty
years as a lawyer to helping families with their divorce, child support,
child custody, child placement and visitations, and other family law matters.
He is a certified Mediator, a certified Collaborative Divorce Law attorney,
as well as Family Court Commissioner in Calumet County.
Attorney Melody Buchinger has devoted her legal practice to family law and child custody and support matters. Previously, Attorney Buchinger was a Family Court Commissioner and directed child support departments focused on enforcing child support court orders. She is a certified collaborative divorce law attorney.
For more than thirty combined years, Attorney
Stillings and Attorney Buchinger have represented families in divorce and family law matters. Over those
years, they have gained unparalleled litigation experience as judges presiding over family law court cases. They have handled numerous contested divorces, some including complex
marital property settlements. Those experiences provide a unique perspective and legal skills that will benefit you.
Attorney Stillings provides mediation services throughout Wisconsin for
people who wish to resolve their differences with the help of a neutral
third party. Mediation helps people form agreements based on fair and
equitable compromises.
The attorneys at Stillings & Buchinger have earned certification in Collaborative Divorce Law. Collaborative
Divorce Law certification is rigorous, mandating extensive study of laws, psychology, family dynamics, negotiations, mediation and contracts. In this area of specialized
family law, the objective is to form private fair agreements between
the divorcing spouses and their attorneys while avoiding litigation in
a courtroom and the lack of privacy that is inherit to publicly tried
divorces. Courts grant these special arrangements. If for some reason,
the parties cannot form a mutual agreement, the collaborative arrangement
dissolves, and each party takes their case to court.
