Privacy Notice
What Is A Privacy Notice?
A privacy notice
is a statement on a website made by the owner of the website to the user
of the website to inform the user of the types of information that may
be collected about the user and how that information may be used.
Why Do I Care About A Privacy Notice?
The typical Internet user may not even care about a privacy
notice, and even if they do read it, they may not care about why it is
provided. However, the Internet has fast become the primary means for
many people to gather information, and with the good that the Internet
provides naturally comes the bad. It is usually the people who intent
to do bad things with a website that would be concerned about the type
of information that we collect and how we may use it.
The Type of Information That We Collect From This Website
Whenever a person visits our website, unless they are running
under the cloak of a disguished or concealed address, our traffic monitoring
system records their visit and notes the pages that they found of the
most interest. We also see where people come into the site and where they
leave it, although we do not see who those people are or any other personal
identifying information about them. The reason that websites use traffic
monitoring systems is to improve the website, the content, and the navigation
to make it more user friendly.
Outside Security Monitoring Agent
Because we are a law firm, and because we want to take every
precaution possible to ensure that the website is safe and secure, we
use an outside agency to monitor the website. That agency ensures that
the website is up and running. To gather that type of information, a visit to our website
is tracked.
Spammer Alerts
Our outside monitoring agency also monitors spammer attacks.
